New Mexico BioPark Society:
The New Mexico BioPark Society (NMBPS) is the support organization for the ABQ BioPark Zoo, Aquarium, Botanic Garden and Tingley Beach.
NMBPS is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization governed by a volunteer Board of Directors and supported by local donors. It is not a part of the City of Albuquerque, but a separate legal entity. Donations are tax-deductible in whole or in part.
Mission Statement:
“Making the exceptional possible at the ABQ BioPark.”
The New Mexico BioPark Society is dedicated to the development of, procurement for and capital improvement of the ABQ BioPark and to providing a quality facility through the support of related conservation, education and recreation programs.
ABQ BioPark:
The ABQ BioPark benefits New Mexico’s children, adults, seniors and educators with recreation, education, conservation and economic development. But these are only surface benefits.
With over 18% of our population under the poverty line, many New Mexicans will never have the opportunity to travel outside the continental United States.
The BioPark brings the world to central New Mexico, allowing over 1.5 million visitors per year to experience plants and animals from around the globe. The BioPark reinforces students’ classroom lessons, provides families with a venue for exploration and wonder, and grows New Mexicans’ understanding of their ability to conserve locally for global impact.
The BioPark reminds us of what makes a great city – its ability to capture the imagination and move the spirit of its population.
The BioPark creates memories, reinforces values and ignites passion for nature and life that elevate the imagination. We are more than conservation; we are also culture. We are more than education; we are also opportunity. We are more than recreation; we are also revitalizing.
Supporting the BioPark through NMBPS strengthens our community’s number one attraction and enriches the essence – the spirit – of this great city.
