Honor a special person with a tribute or memorial

A tribute or memorial gift to the BioPark Society is a thoughtful way to honor family and friends while providing needed support for the programs and services of the ABQ BioPark's Zoo, Aquarium, and Botanic Garden. Several recognition programs are available and we will work with you to structure the tribute or memorial.

Memorial Donations — Tax-deductible donations in memory of departed love ones may be made to the New Mexico BioPark Society. All donors will receive acknowledgement information, and the family will receive notification if possible. Please contact us at (505) 764-6291 to let us know if you will be designating the New Mexico BioPark Society as a memorial, for assistance if you would like the donations to be designated to a specific area or program within the BioPark, and to share family contact information. Celebration Sculpture — Designed to celebrate loved ones and significant events, the Celebration Sculpture is centrally located to the north of the Cottonwood Park's bandshell, between the Seals & Sea Lions exhibit and Cottonwood Café. Custom engraving on black granite can include a beloved animal species from the Zoo. Tribute plaque sizes range from 3"x6" to 12"x12" and begin at $100. BioPark Parent Sponsorship - Any species at the Zoo, Aquarium, or Botanic Garden may be sponsored in tribute or memorial of a loved one. Annual sponsorship packages begin at $25. Learn more

Dragonfly Mosaic at the Botanic Garden - Acknowledge a loved one through the new Dragonfly Mosaic in the Dragonfly Sanctuary Courtyard of the Botanic Garden. The 7' tall x 10' wide mural by artist Laura Robbins will playfully depict dragonflies, bees, ladybugs, spiders, and grasshoppers, each fashioned out of numerous pieces of hand-cut glass. Clay work will also be incorporated to create additional depth. Donors at the $5,000 level become a part of this beautiful new artistic installation. On either side of the mosaic, fused green glass ribbons, each bearing a donor’s name, will be artfully placed on or next to whimsical clay flowers, cactus pads, and leaves. Donor ribbons at this level will also be accompanied by a mosaic dragonfly or other special creature–a special symbol of the donor’s commitment to nature and to the future development of the Botanic Garden. Commemorative Bench Program at the Zoo - Honor a loved one or special occasion with a beautiful bench to relax on and enjoy the BioPark. Each gray granite bench costs $5,000 and is 51" wide by 28" tall and placed in your choice of select locations. The bench back features a 12"x12" black granite plaque customized with an animal image and text special to your loved one, in the same style at the Celebration Sculpture plaques.
