The purpose and function of the New Mexico BioPark Society (NMBPS) is to promote the development of the ABQ BioPark’s Zoo, Aquarium, Botanic Garden and Tingley Beach, to further community interest, and assist in raising funds for the continued development and capital improvements of the BioPark. We are dedicated providing a quality facility through the support of related conservation, education and recreation programs. NMBPS raises funds from donations received from private foundations, individuals, businesses, fundraising events, state lobbying efforts, grants and special fundraising campaigns.

NMBPS also administers the membership program for the ABQ BioPark.

The New Mexico BioPark Society is a 501c(3) non-profit organization; donations are tax-deductible in whole or in part. It is not a part of the City of Albuquerque, but a separate legal entity. The Society is a charitable organization governed by its Board of Directors, which is comprised of private citizens.
